How Long?
I seem unable to feel contented in my Christian walk. This is a life-long problem, and I don't know how to get out of it. But here's yet another poem on the same theme so often written about earlier in my life.
How Long?
How long before I start living life
instead of just going through the motions?
How can I be truly joyful
instead of just reciting why I should be?
How long before God gives up on me
before he lets my complacency have its way?
How long must I live
before God can really have his way with me?
I have seen so much of the glory of God.
I have seen his miracles again and again.
Thankfully, God is faithful and true.
His will be done, not because, but in spite of me.
